The experts at Excel Dryer are constantly innovating to ensure their products are the most cost-effective, hygienic and sustainable ways to dry hands. They recently announced the latest enhancement: an upgrade to electrostatic HEPA filtration. The new optional feature is available for its XLERATOR® hand dryer models including the newly expanded, surface-mounted, ADA-compliant ThinAir® Hand Dryer product line.
The Science Behind Electrostatic HEPA
Excel Dryer recently upgraded its HEPA filters to electrostatic media to allow for freer flowing air, taking hand hygiene to the next level. This improved filter, provided by Columbus Industries, a trusted U.S.-based company with more than 50 years of expertise in filter manufacturing, uses an electric charge to attract particles as they pass through the dryer. As a result, the particles adhere to the internal filter, effectively eliminating them from the air.
The system is proven to remove more than 99.999% of viruses and 99.97% of potentially present bacteria at 0.3 microns from the airstream, according to 2023 testing performed by LMS Technologies.
Post-pandemic, clean hands are a global focus and the filtration of bacteria and viruses from the air is paramount to help improve the indoor air quality and environment. Excel Dryer’s full line of hand drying solutions with electrostatic HEPA filtration helps facilities accomplish both.
The Benefits of ThinAir
ThinAir is a high-efficiency hand dryer model that includes all the standard enhanced XLERATOR® features—including adjustable sound, speed and heat controls—while also protruding less than four inches from the wall when surface mounted to adhere to ADA regulations. ThinAir dries hands in 14 seconds1, operates on 950 watts and helps facilities qualify for several LEED® Credits and WELL® Points. Now, this great product is getting even better; the ThinAir with electrostatic HEPA provides the same ADA compliance with an advanced level of hygiene and efficiency.
ThinAir offers users the flexibility to customize their experience with speed and sound controls. These controls allow for adjusting the operational sound level, resulting in one of the quietest hand dryers on the market. The on/off heat control enables wattage reduction from 950 watts to as low as 300 watts when the heat function is turned off. The model also comes with expanded cover options to include brushed stainless steel, custom paint colors and custom design covers.
